Tanya Heath is the creator behind Tanya Heath Paris – a bricks and clicks business designing and selling the world’s first adjustable height shoe with removable heels. After 4 years of designing, the product went live in 2013, and they have now sold over 12,000 pairs of shoes and 28,000 pairs of heels.

Tanya has the continued development of the new website – which is a daily task –  also without giving anything away she intends to go back to research and development within the year.  Tanya likes to have a lot on the to do list or she gets bored!

Choosing your Web Platform

The first Tanya Heath Paris website was built on Drupal – Tanya’s advice is don’t do this!  Why custom build a site when there are plenty of great platforms out there ready to use.  Tanya Heath Paris are currently developing a new website on a Magento platform. Tanya chose this platform because it fits with the needs that they business has for an overarching website with regional variants.

eCommerce Book Top Tip

For the development of the idea for Tanya Heath Paris, Tanya has found The Innovators Dilemma by Clatyon M. Christensen invaluable.

However, the book she intends to give her 3 children on their 18th birthdays is The Story of Philosophy by Will Durant.

eCommerce Traffic Top Tip

Tanya Heath Paris to date have not really used anything that can be described as traditional marketing.  The business has however really capitalised on providing fantastic customer service.  Their current top 10 customers initially had customer service issues.

Tool Top Tip

The Tanya Heath Paris team use a number of tools and apps – none of which Tanya would describe as cool!  For her having the team all around one big table where they can communicate easily is key.

Start Up Top Tip

Tanya wishes that she had thought internationally to start with for her business as she feels her french landing page has deterred a lot of potential customers.  She suggests that start ups think globally.

If Tanya wasn’t running Tanya Heath Paris she would like to be in the 3D printing business sector – and she can even see this eventually forming part of her current business.
