Job Title: PR Manager and Executive Assistant – eCommerce MasterPlan

  • Salary: £23,000 pro rata.
  • Part Time 2.5 days per week initially (but may build as business grows)
  • Location: Cornwall based  (home/mobile working initially)

eCommerce Masterplan is a recognised brand in the sector with an ambition to become recognised globally and develop a significant online community of businesses that want to grow and be better at what they do.

The business is looking for a talented all rounder to become a linchpin of the office and people liaison for this growing enterprise in eCommerce Consultancy. You will be working alongside and reporting to a passionate business owner, you will be forward thinking and display a robust approach to manage four key areas.

PR Manager

  • Build the business owner’s PR profile to influencer level in the sector – interviews, columns, features, articles, blogs, answering media enquiries. Content will be worked on jointly with the owner.
  • Website updates and digital links working with outside agency to ensure consistency.
  • Create PR opportunities and build relationships necessary nationally and internationally.
  • Collate, monitor and share media coverage to maximise reach. Market and Competitor research via digital channels as required.


  • For a newly created podcast book 1 great guest per week.
  • Use established system to contact people for interview and chase up opportunities to close and book into allotted timings for recording.

Partner Liaison

Liaise with and recruit partners who sell to/Speak to eCommerce businesses. Build relationships with them to:

  • Increase sales
  • Increase brand awareness
  • Outcomes that would be anticipated are:
  • Paid speaking slots
  • Volume orders of our books (or subscription product)
  • Sponsor the podcast
  • Affiliate commission
  • Market / distribute / Share content
  • Intros to interesting podcast guests


Attend events that business owner is speaking at

  • Manage arrival, admin and event liaison to enable owner to give great talks undistracted.
  • To make potential partner and interviewee connections face to face at events and arrange link ups in advance.
  • Manage follow up PR after the event with event press office including photo calls for event if required.

The ideal candidate will have:

Degree educated with 2-5 years experience in a PR role whether in house, agency or freelance – with proven coverage.

Good release and content writing skills, and experienced in using digital and social channels and resources to best practice.

Friendly and professional with a high order of inter personal skills to gain credibility and maintain positive relationships. Experience of dealing with a brand or person with high profile would be useful.

Ability to work to deadlines, time manage and work autonomously whilst keeping the business owner up to date.

Good research skills with ability to spot emerging trends, bloggers of note and what is important to customers and partners.

Passionate, creative and driven to match the owner’s vision.

Experience in the sector advantageous but not essential

IT can be provided, access to cloud business systems and VA available to use.
