Tom Schwab is the CEO of Goodbye Crutches. An American eCommerce store which educates about, and sells alternatives to the humble crutch (who knew!). Tom is a master of understanding his customer and creating the content that just pulls them to his site. This has taken them from 3,000 paid monthly visitors to 70,000 organic visitors per month, in under 3 years.

Beardbrand is a range of products for looking after a beard (strangely enough!), the majority of the products are designed by the Beardbrand team, with a few best of breed exceptions. The products are available from their 2 international online stores, and various retail distributors.

Today we’re doing something a little different.

As many of you know I recently visited the USA on a learning trip – one of the things I did on that trip was attend a podcasting conference, and one of my fellow attendees knows a LOT about Bitcoin. I’ll be honest Bitcoin is something I’ve purposefully ignored – a box I’ve chosen not to open!! But initial chats with Trace persuaded me that Bitcoin is a box I should open, and if I should be opening it, then all of you probably deserve to know a bit about it too.

So… on today’s podcast Trace Meyer will be helping us all to understand bitcoin, and what it can do for us eCommerce people.

024: Bursa de Anvelope’s Dorin Parnica on growing 16x to EURO500,000 selling tyres in Romania, and by focusing on the customer

Dorin Parnica runs Bursa de Anvelope – and yes, unless you’re one of our listeners who speaks Romanian you’re not going to read much in that name! Dorin is our first Romanian guest, I met him at the TeCOMM Power to the Customer event last month which I was speaking at, and I knew I needed to get him on the show.

Bursa de Anvelope sells car tyres. Online to end consumers and garages. This year they will reach EURO500,000 turnover, that’s a 16x growth over the last 3 years with big plans for the future!

Alex Pratt is the founder of Serious Readers who build and supply the world’s best reading lights. (I am a customer and love these lights – perfect for an evening of needlework! And they do ship worldwide). The business started in 1986, and is now a mail order business with strong online sales, as well as Amazon and wholesale sales. Turnover is £5m achieved with 50 employees selling 20,000 lights per year. Alex is also the Chairman of the UK’s Direct Commerce Association.
