2014 Marketing Trends Infographic #1

This is nice little infographic, but it is USA focused, and non eCommerce specific. But still useful to get a grasp on likely trends for the next year.

Key stats for me:

  • 78% of CMOs (chief marketing officers) think custom content (ie written / created by your team) is the future of marketing
  • But only 50% of companies have a content marketing strategy – so if you want to get ahead, sort out your content
  • Customer testimonials are the most effective content marketing (so you don’t have to create it yourself!)
  • Videos on landing pages increase conversions by 86%
  • 72% of PPC marketers plan to increase their PPC budget in 2014 (if you’re not planning to, which adwords tricks are they using that you’re not?) My guess they’re going into YouTube and Remarketing and PLAs.
